Erik Andersen

Critical Care/ICU Staff Nurse II, WakeMed Hospital, Cary, North Carolina
Fuquay-Varina, NC

I’m thankful to have found a partner in Johnson & Johnson and very excited to begin improving healthcare.

  • About Erik

Erik is a critical care nurse from Raleigh, NC. Currently in his third year as an ICU nurse, Erik began his nursing career as a New Graduate Fellow in the ER after graduating from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing. During his nursing program he enrolled in Biomedical Engineering courses which helped him determine his future goal: to leverage his experience at the bedside to identify problems and to design solutions that will revolutionize healthcare.

Currently a fellow in the inaugural cohort of the Johnson & Johnson Nursing Innovation Fellowship, Erik looks forward to developing new relationships and skills that will facilitate reaching these goals of improving the lives of patients, family, and healthcare staff. On the days not working in the ICU, Erik can be found working for Das Oil Werks, a premium, automotive-lubricant importer where he is responsible for sales and distribution from Central to Coastal NC. He grew up going to car shows with his father and has always had an affinity for everything automotive. Erik is married to his beautiful wife, Julia, a dental hygienist, and they have a home in Fuquay-Varina, NC, with their Australian Shepherd, Reese.
