About Rebecca
Rebecca McInroy is an award-winning public media show creator, host, and executive producer.
In 2004 she moved to Austin for graduate school in Media Studies at UT and started working for KUT Public Radio. Her career in public radio paralleled her academic life, and while working in audio production she also wrote on digital radio policy in the US, the visual presence of public radio on the web, and podcasting and the opportunities for public radio. Rebecca believes it is important that public media directly connects with the community it serves. The shows she creates, produces and hosts are all in line with what she thinks is audio’s greatest asset; and that is to link the general public to ideas, innovations, conversations, and intellectual and artistic communities around the globe.
