0:00: I want to share my journey because I feel like a lot of you could probably relate.
0:03: When COVID happened, I got laid off from my job and while some people were leaving the healthcare field, I decided to jump in and start helping.
0:12: I saw this as a blessing in disguise because it was a second chance for me, a chance for me to chase what I truly wanted to do, and that was to be a nurse.
0:20: Didn't know what I wanted to specialize in, but I found out quickly that there is a path for everyone.
0:25: We got to see what [medical surgery] was like.
0:27: We got to see the ICU, ER... be a lot of different units.
0:31: Ultimately, I ended up in the operating room, which I absolutely love.
0:35: You might say I can't go back to school because I have to work.
0:38: Or maybe you have kids.
0:40: Or maybe you don't even have the financial resources to pay for school.
0:43: Whatever your barrier is, I guarantee you that there is a resource or a tool out there that exists to help you overcome that barrier.
0:50: All you have to do is ask around.
0:52: I know that if I did it, you definitely can do it too.
