"I love helping others. It is very satisfying to be able to encourage others and see the change in the facial expression into relief that they are not alone, that someone cares."
My inspiration
I decided I wanted to be a nurse when I was 15 and witnessed how nurses made the difference in encouraging my 17 year old brother. He was in a horrific car accident and sustained many disfiguring injuries to his face.
I remember how the nurses took great care of him while he was in the hospital and helped him however they could. They strived to make him comfortable those first several days when he was in such pain.
What a typical work shift is like for me
I work in an educational setting full time and in an internal medicine clinic part time.
My advice for someone starting out
"Be patient with yourself as you start out. Keep learning."
How I balance work and life
Make exercise a part of your day, get enough sleep, and laugh daily with your family.
